Parents and the school
Welcome to New Parents
Who is a member of the PTA?
You are! Every parent and member of staff is a member of the PTA at Wellington .
However, there is a committee which organises events and provides services (for example, uniform sales) to the school. The committee is made up of parents, teacher representatives and Mrs Kahlon, Deputy Head Teacher, who is the chair of the committee.
What does the PTA do?
It raises funds for the school. This money provides extra items or activities that would not be covered by the school’s normal budget. This can include extra trips, sports kit, equipment for the classrooms, support for the annual creativity week, fund visiting theatre companies, etc
How do we raise the money?
The money is raised by holding events throughout the year – both for the children and the adults to attend, including our annual Summer Fair. You will be informed of these events through the regular PTA newsletter or flyers for special occasions.
We also raise money through various other means.
The parent representatives have organised a range of activities including the Summer Fair, Harvest Parcels for the local residents, Santa’s Grotto and many more! We Need Your Help! Could you ....
Join the Committee
Be part of the PTA and discuss issues and organise events for the school.
Become a Class Representative
Class representatives help keep the communication channels open between the committee and the parents – feeding us ideas, making sure the newsletters are being received etc.
Become an “Occasional Helper”
We know it is difficult to commit to regular help but do you have special talents or some spare time to help occasionally. If so we would love to hear from you. We can then contact you when help is needed. If you can’t do it at the time then please don’t worry - at least we know you don’t mind being asked.
If you are interested then please contact either Ms Kahlon, Mrs. Rixon or the school office for further details.
