Welcome

from the Head Teacher

It is my pleasure to invite you to become partners in the successful education of your
child/children. We are proud of our school and the strength of the community that enables us
to foster and nurture all the talents of our pupils.

At Wellington staff, governors, parents and the pupils work closely together to create a
learning environment that stimulates young minds, encourages their development and
success, and promotes a sense of responsibility for themselves and others. We warmly
welcome you to join us in that partnership.

Your child’s entitlement to the National Curriculum is only part of what we aim to achieve at
Wellington School. We believe in fostering children’s curiosity to create a life-long love of
learning. We also aim to promote creativity and provide a wealth of opportunities for
expressive young minds. We place emphasis on the importance of social and personal growth
and strive to ensure that our children are happy, healthy and responsible members of our
community.

We are fortunate in having dedicated staff who give their time generously to ensure that your
child’s years with us are enjoyable, stimulating and successful. We pride ourselves on our
reputation for meeting all children’s needs: the strength and success of our support for
children with Special Educational Needs and our programmes for higher ability and particularly
gifted children. All are welcome at Wellington School.

We believe that our school has some excellent resources and facilities. In this brochure we
hope to give you information about the school, its aims, organisation, curriculum and
activities. No brochure, however, can convey the ethos or feel of a school. We therefore
encourage you to visit us and experience Wellington for yourselves.

I look forward to meeting you.

Mrs Debbie Norton
